HPP is going to spend a little time with family. See you in a week or so.

Snow Dogs and Bear Rolls

Holiday greetings from the Abominable Snowdog (distant relation pictured above), who advises all to just roll with it, and enjoy the Chicago winter for what it offers: big waves on the lake, good sledding, and powder that's great to do figure-eights in!

HPP will be hibernating until the first week of 2009; a comment or two may be moderated in the meantime, if anyone bothers to check in.

Meanwhile, keep a log on the fire, a light on out front, and some biscuits in the pantry.

Road Trip!

We'll be taking a holiday from the unending Hyde Park media circus (for which we provide a tent) over the next week or so.

Time to bond with the dogs, go to the shore, jump in the lake, and otherwise slack off.

Go Blow Your Coat!

That's right.

Git on out and blow your coat. Honzo here is doing it (friend of Chillmaster) and you should too. Someplace beach-like. Honzo here actually likes winter, and so does Chillmaster, but you've probably had enough, so go find someplace warm, sunny, and beachy, even if it's the sunroom in grandma's ranch house. Maybe you can pretend to be as good a cook as Elizabeth Fama. Or try to figure out how to get invited to dinner at her place.

Meanwhile, we'll be back in early April. Maybe. Before then, no comments will be moderated, or if they are, only randomly.

Me and the man here are going to go spike the eggnog, pull out the Jack London, and dream about the Great White North. Then maybe go hop around in the Chicago slush. While we're doing that, HPP will be offline, and no comments will be moderated between December 21, 2007 and January 2, 2008. So keep the fire going, give a howl at the moon, and see you next year.

Even HPP bloggers need a break from being snarky. So we're off to the woods of Wisconsin to dig up some mushrooms, which means we won't be able to post any vitriol, wit, insight, digression, segues, interpolation, double-entendres, learned references, invidiousness, asides, praise or damnation.

Not until Monday, at least, when it will all resume in full.

Gone to Grandma's

Hyde Park Progress will be taking a break over the Thanksgiving Holiday. There may be a few new posts, but no reader comments will be moderated until we're all back and a little bit heavier on Monday morning, 11/26/07. Have a thankful and pleasant holiday!
