Hyde Park Progress is a blog devoted to promoting reasonable economic improvement in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. It is a forum for members of the community who want to end the artificial isolation of Hyde Park from the larger economy of the City. It calls for the improvement of neighborhood retail and commercial amenities, safety, and liveliness.

Looks like Bangkok? There's a perfect example of unplanned, low-density sprawl -- but plenty of other SE Asian capital cities will do just as well. THAT'S what generates killer traffic.
Compared to this, Manhattan -- or the Loop -- are theme parks.
It's Hyderabad, India. Traffic seems to be a free-for-all in major cities of India, as you can see from this video:

In general, we Americans are used to a much higher level of traffic regulation. Even in Italy, it's standard procedure to walk (with your young children) down narrow cobblestoned streets with cars and motorcycles zooming inches from you (and I mean INCHES).
